Ching Ho Cheng @The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C, USA

Group Exhibition "Pour, Tear, Carve - Material Possibilities in the Collection"
Ching Ho Cheng’s abstract UFO Torn Work was on exhibit at The Phillips Collection in DC. Gert Schiff commented in a 1986 ArtForum that the UFO Torn Series is “Like lightning, it never strikes in the same place twice… The darkest and most impassioned works convey a feeling of what Gottfried Benn called ‘the great dissonance as the law of the universe.’”

Titled “Pour, Tear, Carve”, this exhibition spotlights how the selection and manipulation of materials can enhance a viewer’s understanding of and dialogue with art. Bridging past to present, the exhibition introduces several key recent acquisitions with well-known and never-before-exhibited works, offering the opportunity for these diverse, intricate objects to be examined together in a dynamic, new way.
