Liao Guohe: Instant Morality

BANK is pleased to announce the opening of Instant Morality, Liao Guohe’s second solo exhibition in Shanghai featuring new paintings and installation works made specially made for this occasion.

Liao Guohe continues to expound obscure, satirical criticism about contemporary culture through his signature, discordant yet enchanting painting style. The title Instant Morality plays off popular Chinese sayings during this Year of Horse (Instant Wealth, Instant Love, etc.). Liao’s line quality, quirkiness, and unique sensibilities frame his canvases and installations in both a sociopolitical context as well as literati tradition.

Liao Guohe (b.1977) graduated from Fine Arts Department of Hunan Normal University. He currently works and lives in Changsha.
