Bony Ramirez's Fiera: Views from the Outside is acquired in the collection of the Pérez Art Museum Miami and is on view in the Permanent Collection exhibition. In an interview with Juxtapoz Magazine, Ramirez mentioned about the work: “‘Fiera’ means a violent animal, and I often portray what appear to be animal-hybrid-human-figure in my paintings, which is also a stereotype that I try to create, to show how immigrant groups, especially us Caribbean immigrants, are often seen in the U.S.—that we’re these loud, disorganized, savage animals that don’t have manners. Therefore, sometimes the animals have this depiction of being very savage or dangerous. They seem to be in some kind of fight, or even covered in blood.”
