Lin Ke's sky painting Chinese Landscape Painting and Chen Tianzhuo’s performance video of Ocean Cage are currently on display in TANK Shanghai’s exhibition "Pictures of the Post-80s Generation Generational Leap".
Regarding the title and concept of this work, the artist explains it like this: "I paint within the image of the exhibition space. The 87 cm separation between these two works corresponds to their distance in the image. This distance hints at their connection as parts of the same piece. The gray and white grid is the default background in Photoshop. I attempt to create my landscape paintings within this space. This piece is composed of layers I discarded from other Photoshop projects. These layers randomly form the impression of a landscape painting in my mind."
This is a group exhibition about Chinese contemporary artists born in the 1980s, bringing together 35 outstanding artists living in China. China's "post-80s" are in the middle of their careers. They are the first generation to grow up under the background of China's rapid economic development, and they are also a generation shaped by the dream and situation of globalization.
