Michael Najjar participates in the exhibition “Future Atmospheres” at Museu Apel·les Fenosa in El Vendrell, Spain. On view is his video work “the singularity” from the work series “bionic angel” (2006-2008). The key concept behind the video work "the singularity" is the future transformation and technological control of human evolution. The furious pace of development in the field of “g-r-i-n” technologies (genetics, robotics, information and nano-technology) is changing our bodies, our minds, our memories, our identities and even our posterity.
The exhibition promotes dialogue between the work of sculptor Apel·les Fenosa (1899-1988) and contemporary artists. The focus is on the visionary proposals of the participating artists, regardless of the time of their creation, which play a relevant role in our age determed by computing and algorithms.
