Lu Yang @"Zero 10" of Art Basel Miami Beach 2025

BANK is pleased to announce the participation of Lu Yang’s work DOKU – Heaven (2022) in the newly launched Zero 10 initiative, premiering at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025. The video installation, originally presented by BANK in 2023‘s edition of Art Basel Paris, is now presented as a loan from the UBS Art Collection—the institutional collection of Art Basel’s Global Lead Partner, UBS.

Zero 10 represents Art Basel’s decisive, long-term commitment to the future of digital-era art. Taking its title from Kazimir Malevich’s historic 1915 avant-garde exhibition *0,10*, the initiative sets a new benchmark for how digital art is contextualized and collected within today’s art economy. It connects leading artists, galleries, and digital innovators with Art Basel’s global curatorial and market framework.

We are honored that Lu Yang’s work has been selected for this landmark presentation, reflecting both the artist’s pioneering vision and the growing institutional recognition of digital and technologically engaged practice.

In DOKU-Heaven, the artist transcends physical limits to become an omnipresent avatar—a playful, gliyyering entity dancing atop a river of fluorescent crystals in a paradisiacal choreography is inspired by Balinese and Indonesian traditional dance forms such as Legong, captured on-site in Bali and digitally transferred onto the avatar's movements and expressions. Yet within this seemingly blissful Eden lies a deceptive glow which is a seductive realm of indulgence and idelness that questions the cost of ignorance and the pursuit of purity.
