BANK is honored to announce the completion of artist Michael Lin’s major commissioned work Processed (2025) for the Taichung Art Museum. The piece made its official debut on December 13, 2025, as part of the museum’s grand opening.
The museum established the Taichung Art Museum Biennial Commission, aiming to foster deep dialogue between art, architecture, ecology, and culture. Michael Lin and Korean artist Haegue Yang were jointly selected as the inaugural artists for this commission.
With deep personal and familial ties to Taichung, Lin has chosen to present his new large-scale painting installation in the museum’s main lobby. By employing traditional textile motifs of high cultural significance, such as the plum blossom, he reimagines the public space, creating a bridge between local cultural memory and global contemporary discourse.
The Taichung Art Museum serves as the core institution within the new cultural landmark, the Taichung Green Museumbrary. This spectacular architectural landmark represents the largest cultural project to date by SANAA (founded by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa), the Pritzker Prize-winning and 2025 RIBA Royal Gold Medal-receiving Japanese architecture duo. It is the first and only cultural complex in Taiwan to integrate a metropolitan art museum with a city’s central library.
