BANK is pleased to announce artist Patty Chang's participation in “In the Midst of It All” curated by G Museum, Nanjing. The group exhibition brings together 12 female artists’ artworks, including performance, video, sculpture, and site-specific projects. Facing the hegemony of patriarchy and western colonialism that categorizes females as "nature", "body", and "irrationality," these artists aim to deconstruct the Cartesian nature-culture dualism that maintains white supremacy and patriarchy. As a powerful response to the current socio-political context, their art-wors give credit to the body instead of the mind, nature instead of culture. Patty's film Invocation for a Wandering Lake: Parts 1&2 (2016) will be shown in the exhibition. This film has also been selected by Ballroom Marfa for the 2021 season of Artists’ Film International (AFI).
