2025 ART021 Shanghai: Wenjue

BANK is pleased to present Wen Jue's solo project "Choose Your Own Adventure: Inception" at Art021, Booth C06.

Wenjue's new series draws inspiration from his childhood impulse to deconstruct and reconstruct games, alongside influences from anime culture, religious altarpieces, and medieval manuscripts. By merging painting with bas-relief techniques, he constructs a "Realm of Ecstasy" that blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

Through gamified scene-building, the works reveal the complex structures of human interaction, desire, and emotion. These narratives, intertwined like colorful mist, glimmer subtly within a surreal space, inviting viewers into a visual adventure that transcends the everyday.
